The scientific Gospel

In science we talk about “the literature” as though it’s the gospel as though there is no positive publication bias, no cleverly analysed experiments, no faked data, no cherry picking of experiments or images, all scientists are totally honest and not motivated to prove themselves correct or get on in their careers, or generate support for a patent, not prone to make fatal errors, or draw the wrong conclusions.
